General Description
A key management role responsible for the development and execution of strategies to develop markets and drive sales leads. Maintains overall responsibility for developing the company’s brand and image through a variety of channels. Supports product development, business planning and sales strategy through market research initiatives.
Key Responsibilities & Expectations:
- Develops an annual Sales & Marketing Plan and supporting budget that supports achievement of the company’s annual sales targets. This includes planning annual advertising and promotional activities, tradeshow and conference plan.
- Closely supports the development and execution of the company’s sales strategy including researching and defining market problems and opportunities, identifying focus market sectors, designing and implementing strategies to achieve sales growth.
- Develops and maintains the company’s brand identity at both a corporate and product level.
- Develops communication for all areas of the company and implements in the marketplace as well as online.
- Manages and administers the corporate website.
- Manages and executes Media Relations strategy. Works with internal and external stakeholders to implement media releases. Follows up and tracks progress with industry media and business journals, newspapers. Establishes rapport with key media contacts and represents company with media such as newspapers, online, and television.
- Directly supports Sales via direct customer contact, preparation of client correspondence, presentation materials and proposals.
- Monitors industry and market trends through regular market research and based on this research, makes relevant recommendations for strategic planning, sales strategies and product development.
Required skills and competencies:
- Solid understanding of marketing fundamentals with the ability to translate strategic level goals into effective action plans and tactics.
- A strong understanding of the fundamentals of successful sales and sales management strategy.
- Ability to train and coach other employees to adopt corporate level branding, marketing and sales initiatives.
- Articulate, persuasive and compelling communicator.
- Professional presentation skills and experience.
- Exceptional writing skills.
- Experience and skills related to web development and on-line sales and communication.
- Good design skills with “an eye for detail”.
- Highly organized and a good project manager.
Ideal education and experience:
- 5 plus years experience in technical sales / sales management.
- 5 plus years in senior-level marketing in a technical selling environment.
- Post Secondary Business Education (B.Comm, B. Admin or MBA) with emphasis in strategic planning, business development and marketing.
Compensation
