General Description
A strategic management role responsible for developing and executing a plan for procurement and logistics that delivers on-cost, on-quality, and on-time goods and services. The Manager, Supply Chain and his or her team provide strategic support and advice to sales, engineering and project delivery that improves their ability to meet customer needs and expectations. They consistently and systematically evaluate and balance the need for quality, access and price and build strong and dependable supplier relationships that provide the company and its clients the best long-term, overall solution.
This position impacts the customer experience and company performance by leading a team that drives continuous improvement of price and quality of material supply and logistics.
Key Responsibilities & Expectations:
- Develop, maintain and manage procurement & logistics procedures, processes and policies.
- Define and maintain Terms & Conditions, Warranties, procurement contracts/agreements.
- Assess the commodities markets and recommend purchasing strategies to maximize benefits given those markets.
- Perform due diligence on suppliers (references, company history, financial stability). Evaluate supplier performance and product quality. Recommend future contract awards.
- Develop and maintain relationships with key suppliers.
- Invite tenders (RFQ), consult with suppliers and review quotations.
- Manage internal and external purchase requisitions. Negotiate pricing, authorize and issue purchase orders (POs). Supervise procurement of goods and services. Negotiate discounts and medium/long term pricing structures.
- Setup international logistics and transportation channels. Develop processes and strategies to manage customs, brokerage and bonding.
- Oversee PO and inventory –related accounting, PO matching and discrepancies assessment.
- Manage supply/product issues (warranties, performance, invoices, defects, etc.).
- Maintain supply/product database to support sales quotations and proposal development.
- Maintain supply/cost performance dashboard and issue reports as requested.
- Identify and implement opportunities to improve lead-time, reduce cost of goods.
- Provide M&B, ILS, LORA/ELORA, value engineering, spares/RAM support to Engineering.
Required skills and competencies:
- Able to multi-task in a multi-faceted, multi-site, drop-ship environment.
- Ability to work well and demonstrate good judgment under pressure in a fast paced environment.
- Strong negotiator.
- Leadership and mentoring skills – ability to lead and develop a team.
- Bonus item: Multi-lingual and culturally aware (required procuring and negotiating globally).
Ideal education and experience:
- Business Degree, preferably MBA and/or industry designation.
- Minimum 10 years experience in Supply Chain including in management.
- International procurement and logistics experience
Compensation
Compensation will be negotiated based on the successful candidate's experience, qualities and qualifications. Hydroxyl Systems offers all full-time employees a competitive benefits plan including extended health insurance.
